Angela Lanctot

My love for riding came at a very young age but I didn’t actually get my license until I was 30. When I finally bought my first bike all I kept thinking was “why didn’t I do this sooner!!!” It was exhilarating and liberating, a true adrenaline rush and something that I could only compare to running (another passion of mine that I can no longer do, but that’s another story).  I’m a travel junky and have been all of my life, fortunately I’ve managed to see many parts of the world and now I get to share this addiction with my best friend Pat.

Born and bred in Toronto, Ontario I cannot deny that at times I miss the culture of urban living especially the restaurants and night life, but I wouldn’t change our little piece of heaven for the world. Whenever we miss the city we just go back for a visit.

I’m also a dual citizen of Portugal and Patrick is in the process of applying for his European residency, something we just found out recently that he can now do.  One of our goals once the Café is opened and established is to spend a year or more living and riding in and around Europe, this will be so much easier as EU citizens for a plethora of reasons.  So needless to say we have a lot of work ahead of us but until then I look forward to the challenge.

A little work history:

Before my stint with the CBC as a video editor I worked (more like lived) in Live Theatre and Performance Arts. I was a sound engineer and designer for well over a decade, worked as a lighting director, production manager and technician for years. I spent way too much time on the road doing shows and unfortunately none of that time was on a bike so I have a lot of catching up to do.

It’s not easy running your own business and being your own boss means you must exercise discipline and make some personal sacrifices along the way, time being one of them.  I’m very lucky to have a partner like Patrick, he’s one tough nut not to mention a devoted husband and an extremely hard worker but I don’t believe in luck, you want something you go get it!  I believe we make a great team whether we’re riding solo or two up and I hope it shows in the way we conduct our business.
